This FAQ section explains USI’s role as an independent research organization focused on residential governance, community systems, and sustainable urban development.
What is USI?
USI is an independent research organization and think tank dedicated to advancing knowledge in residential governance, community systems, and sustainable urban development. Our work focuses on understanding how residential communities, housing systems, and cities can function more effectively, sustainably, and resiliently.
What does USI research?
USI researches the policies, governance models, systems, and structures that shape residential communities. We develop frameworks and insights that help stakeholders better understand the long-term evolution of housing systems, neighborhood development, and urban environments.
How is USI different from a property management company?
USI does not manage residential properties, homeowner associations, or community operations. Our role is to conduct independent research and develop strategic frameworks that contribute to broader discussions on residential governance and community systems.
Is USI a real estate developer or consulting firm?
No. USI is neither a real estate developer nor a consulting firm. We do not build projects, sell real estate, or provide commercial consulting services. Our primary mission is research, thought leadership, and the development of evidence-based frameworks for residential communities and urban systems.
Why does USI focus on residential communities?
Residential communities are home to billions of people and play a critical role in economic, social, and environmental well-being. Despite their importance, relatively few organizations focus exclusively on the systems that govern and sustain them. USI exists to address this gap through dedicated research and community intelligence.
